William Tooker

I’m William Tooker, the mind behind Creephouse Comics and the creator of The Invisible Society Chronicles. Born in 1967, I’ve always been more of a night owl than a morning person—something I blame on my early years as an avid reader, devouring stories long after everyone else had gone to sleep. My curiosity has taken me far, both literally and creatively. From my time at The Ohio State University’s Theatre Department, where I honed my knack for causing trouble, to exploring the United States—from the San Francisco Bay Area to Tampa Bay, Columbus, and Denver—I've always been driven by the desire to experience and understand more of the world.

My journey into writing began in the shadows of those years spent as an artist’s sidekick in the indie comic world, and soon enough, I found myself developing my own stories under the Creephouse Comics banner. I've always loved crafting worlds that are steeped in mystery and darkness, yet grounded by the raw, flawed humanity of the characters who inhabit them. My first novel, Echoes of the Fall, was published in 2014, and since then, I’ve been working on my most ambitious project yet: The Invisible Society Chronicles.

When I’m not buried in a story or collaborating with talented artists like Kevin Gentilcore, I live in Columbus, Ohio, just next door to my childhood friend, surrounded by a handful of pets and the chaos of a writer's life. By day, I’m a digital tech support agent for a major publisher, but by night, I’m bringing my strange worlds to life, one page at a time.
